Why Choose the Scruffs Insect Shield Crate Box Bed?

Every dog deserves a comfortable and peaceful place to rest after a busy day of walking, playing and exploring.

The Scruffs Insect Shield Crate Box Bed is specially designed to combine everyday comfort with innovative insect-repellent technology, making it an excellent choice for dog owners looking for additional protection against common insects.

One of its standout features is the built-in Insect Shield® technology.

Developed using a special fabric treatment containing permethrin, this technology is designed to repel mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, flies and ants. The treatment is tightly bonded to the fabric fibres, providing long-lasting insect-repellent properties.

Unlike traditional untreated dog beds, the Scruffs Insect Shield collection provides an additional protective feature while maintaining the comfort and softness your dog needs.

The bed is constructed using lightweight fabrics, making it particularly suitable for warmer weather. This is especially practical during Malta's hot summer months, when insects can be more active.

Comfort is another important consideration.

The soft, low-pile interior provides a pleasant sleeping surface, while the generously padded sides create a cosy resting area where your dog can curl up and relax.

The fixed centre cushion is filled with 100% recycled polyester hollow fibres, providing softness, cushioning and resilience during everyday use.

Its durable one-piece construction helps the bed maintain its practical shape while offering a comfortable place for your pet to rest.

The stylish taupe colour, contrasting herringbone fabric and olive-green piping create a sophisticated two-tone design that blends beautifully with modern and traditional home interiors.

With dimensions of 50 × 40 × 14cm, this small dog bed is suitable for smaller breeds, depending on their individual size and preferred sleeping position.

Whether your dog enjoys an afternoon nap, relaxing after a walk or settling down for a peaceful night's sleep, the Scruffs Insect Shield Bed offers a combination of comfort, practicality and additional insect-repellent protection.

Care & Usage Recommendations

To keep your Scruffs Insect Shield Crate Box Bed in good condition:

• Place the bed in a clean, dry and comfortable resting area.

• Ensure the bed is appropriately sized for your dog's body and preferred sleeping position.

• Machine wash according to the manufacturer's care instructions.

• Avoid harsh cleaning chemicals or treatments that may affect the fabric.

• Allow the bed to dry completely before reuse.

• Remove loose pet hair and debris regularly.

• Inspect the fabric and seams periodically, particularly if your dog enjoys chewing bedding.

• Continue using suitable veterinary-recommended flea and tick prevention when needed.

Important Safety Information: Insect Shield® fabric contains permethrin, which can be highly toxic to cats. This product is intended for dogs, not cats. Keep cats away from the treated bed and consult the manufacturer or your veterinarian before using it in a household shared with cats. The insect-repellent properties are an additional protective measure and do not replace veterinary parasite prevention.
